![]() ![]() ![]() The amiable Farmer McBroom’s surprising triumph over that lowdown dirty swindler, Heck Jones, who sold McBroom an 80-acre farm and after pocketing the cash revealed that the 80 acres were stacked one on top of another like pancakes-at the bottom of a pond, no less-is one of the most deeply satisfying events in print, period. Even today I can still rattle off a good WillJillHesterChesterPeterPollyTimTomMaryLarryandlittleClarinda! I have loved his work since I was a little girl-the McBroom books are some of the first books I remember reading and rereading and howling over and collecting. ![]() ![]() Moreover, you'll discover that, at its core, the idea of growth investing is not much different from that of value investing. Yet this book provides such a compelling logic to understand the stocks that one will find it to be better than most of the quant dominated stocks books. You'll hardly come across any mathematical formulas in Fisher's analysis. But be warned as these techniques are not as easy to practice. Of course, Fisher's scuttlebutt technique and his 15 points for stock selection provide immense insights into the analysis style of Fisher. For example: Should one sell if his stock has reached insane valuations so as to purchase it later at lower prices? Or how important is the dividend yield when considering a stock for long term? Moreover, the book discusses several puzzling situations which a long term investor often comes across, especially when the markets are volatile. Fisher's investing philosophy is focused on investing in potential blue chips when they are still small thereby resulting in huge gains. ![]() ![]() The book will help you to find future blue chips. (For example, one could have gained more than 9000% by investing in GRUH Finance ( a subsidiary of HDFC) when it was a small firm in early 2000s) Read this book if your aim is to gain several thousand % in the long term by concentrating on few outstanding firms with excellent management. If Graham is the king of quantitative analysis, then Fisher is the king of qualitative analysis of stocks. ![]()

To the stars and back camilla isley6/12/2023 ![]() ![]() However, because there were dual perspectives, I feel like it would have been nice to have more pages for an opportunity to really flesh the relationship out more. ![]() Personally, I liked the alternating perspectives in this instance because the main character is a man, and it would’ve been weird for me to not have the woman’s perspective since that’s obviously what I relate to. ![]() This novel was told in alternating perspectives. I think part of the reason is that, though the first two novels I mentioned were also short (around 200 pages), they were told in a single perspective. For whatever reason, To the Stars and Back didn’t have the same zest for me. I’ve previously read I Have Never and The Christmas Date in this series I Have Never was my favorite, but I also really enjoyed The Christmas Date and gave both novels 5 stars. ![]()

Snail and the whale illustrations6/12/2023 ![]() Their friendships and overall demeanors are engaging and thoroughly enjoyable to read. The creators of The Gruffalo have come up with another winner in The Snail and the Whale for it is a delightful little story with exquisite illustrations. Crab and Snail are fast talkers who sometimes have a pair of barnacles join in the conversation from time to time. Together they go on an amazing journey, past icebergs and volcanoes, sharks and penguins, and the little snail feels so small in the vastness of the world. ![]() One little snail longs to see the world and hitches a lift on the tail of an enormous whale. ![]() The pictures are perfect for young readers (and older readers, too!). 'How I long to sail' said the tiny snail. The cute jokes and the way the two friends act together is funny and sweet. The absurdity doesn’t even matter, as the whale seems to be real, but probably doesn’t surface and just stays under the water, talking to the two from afar. When a seagull comes along who supposedly knows everything and introduces them to the fact that there is an invisible whale out in the water, Crab and Snail jump at the chance to get to know the whale. ![]() Their facial expressions in the images is truly indicative of their personalities, which makes the story all that much more fun to read. ![]() It’s important to know, though, that Crab and Snail are BBF-Best Beach Friends. ‘Crab & Snail: The Invisible Whale’ by Beth Ferry, illustrated by Jared Chapman, is an adorable story in cartoon form about Crab, Snail, and a host of friends they meet while on the beach. ![]()

Sea Venture by Kieran Doherty6/11/2023 ![]() With a bravado reminiscent of Patrick O'Brien's legendary sea sagas, Doherty braves the elements, delivering a powerful history willed by a people destined to change the New World forever. But, the question remains, would the English have lost their place in the New World if the ship never arrived? A story of strife and triumph, but above all, endurance, Sea Venture begins and ends in hope and remains one of the greatest "What Ifs?" in history. Awaiting them was not a thriving colony, but instead the remaining fifty colonists-beleaguered, desperate and hungry. It took Sea Venture's passengers nearly a year and half to reach their destination. But after four weeks at sea, as the voyage neared its end, a hurricane devastated the fleet, leaving the Sea Venture shipwrecked on the island of Bermuda. In one of the most triumphant high sea stories ever told, Kieran Doherty brings to life the true story of the ship that rescued the Jamestown settlement in 1610 and ensured England's place in the New World. When the Sea Venture left England in 1609, it was flagship in a fleet of nine bound for Jamestown with roughly 600 settlers and badly needed supplies aboard. ![]()

Tuna Kala by Poton V6/11/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() However, both triangular keels and flexible finlets generate less thrust than other models either without these features or with modified keels or finlets, leading to a tradeoff between power consumption and thrust. We find that both triangular lateral keels and flexible finlets decrease power requirements during swimming, likely by reducing lateral forces and yaw torques (compared to models either without keels or with rectangular keels, and models with stiff finlets or strip fins of equal area, respectively). Here we present data on the morphology, behavior, and function of tunas, focusing especially on experimentally examining the function of tuna lateral keels, finlets, and pectoral fins by using simple physical models. Despite the strong history of studies in tuna physiology and current interest in tuna biomechanics and bio-inspired design, we lack quantitative data on the function of many features of tunas. Because of their swimming abilities, tunas continue to be an inspiration for both comparative biomechanics and the design of biomimetic autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). Tunas of the genus Thunnus are a group of high-performance pelagic fishes with many locomotor traits that are convergently shared with other high-performance fish groups. ![]()

Release by lucia franco read online free6/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Then, gripping my hips fiercely, he shoved me down onto his length and selflessly gave me what I wanted. I'd never side with the bastard, but I have this feeling that everything that happened between you two was because of you. "Now I can see why Kova can't resist you. "Believe me, I know how it feels," he said. "Very bad." His words were thick with need. ![]() ![]() Pleasure wracked my body from the small victory. It worked, because he hissed, prodding forward even more. "And stopping would be a bad thing?" I asked, trying to lower myself and clench around the tip to entice him. I did it to Kova, and now I was doing it to Hayden. The power of seduction was something I was finding intoxicating. He was losing his battle and I realized I secretly thrived on breaking him down. "Fuck," Hayden muttered under his breath and I grinned. His body tightened and trembled against mine. His Adam's apple bobbed and I ran my tongue over it, twirling it across his neck and sucking the skin between my teeth. Leaning forward, I nuzzled his neck with my nose.
